Hi: I'd like to learn if there's a quick and dirty calculation process that I can use to help me make a judgement on whether a restaurant concept or location is worth pursuing further. The reason I ask this question is, due to lack of experience, I'm looking for a different way to help my decision process. Hope the question is not too confusing. Thank you.

@popo729 If you lack experience then I think the best way is to learn and gain experience so that you can make smart judgement for yourself and your money/investment. Otherwise you’ll either need to depend on someone to assist you, or end up making wild guesses them end up with very poor decisions. There is no other or different way to help your decision making process.

When I provide consultation, part of what I do is I take the owner through important steps and considerations of how a decision should be made based on specific situation, so that he/she can learn to make calculations and estimates to help them know which route to take, and they should avoid. Let me know if you further question.

Sounds like @popo729 wants quick and easy solution to something that requires years of education and years of acquired experience, but is not willing to invest the time. There's really no "dirty" way to do something right, but if you want "quick" but lack experience AND don't want to lose your shirt, then I'd suggest you get a professional coach or consultant to walk you through the whole process, and be willing to spend time to learn from that person.
