Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone here has seen a takeout only pho place either where you live or maybe during your travel. No dining room, just takeout or delivery only. Maybe if there's a small outside eating area then it would be ok.

Thanks.

Haven't heard of one that is totally takeout or delivery only, and being successful at it, except maybe this one:

PhoMi2Go in North Miami Beach

although when they actually open now, it's not all takeout/delivery. They do have on-site dining. https://www.yelp.com/biz/phomi2go-north-miami-beach-2

My opinion is this is doable and should be set up correctly from the beginning. Like most pho restaurants, the owners don't plan properly (or don't know how) so they end up with whatever they end up.

Hit me up if you're itching to do this and I'll be happy to consult. Current third party ordering and delivery services are at critical mass so "ghost restaurants" are becoming quite achievable.

I think I've read about a pho place in Westminster area (Little Saigon in Orange County, So CA) a few years back but can't remember which news publication. I don't think they stayed in business too long.

Haven't seen an all-takeout place personally but if there's one then it's not gonna last too long. My problem with take out pho is the experience and quality are mediocre at best. By the time you actually eat it (even just 20 minutes later), the broth has cooled down to luke warm, the ingredients (noodle, meat etc.) becomes dried out, and eating out of flimsy plastic cup really ruins it for me.

Agree about such a takeout-only place may not last too long. There are plenty of existing restaurants already offering takeout pho, so why would a pho takeout only do any more then maybe taking just a small piece of an existing market? Even if for some reason, takeout pho suddenly becomes the thing every customer wants to do (I can't imagine this scenario but let's just go with it for now), then existing pho restaurants are more than capable to step up and serve more takeout pho. A new takeout only place, without offering something unique that others can't offer, is not going to do much.
